A couple of years ago, we purchased laminate flooring for our living room from Lumber Liquidators. We were skeptical at first, but decided to give it a shot. 2 years later, the floor still looks great and, even though we have 3 kids and a German Shepherd, it’s scratch free.
Here is what Lumber Liquidators website says about laminate flooring:
|Easy to install, laminate comes in an array of colors, grades - and even handscraped for that rustic look. It's fiber core board with a photo on top. It's also very scratch-resistant and great for those who are tough on floors.|
So, at about $2 per sq ft, we are going with laminate. Not only do we save over $600 in materials but, since the floor is so easy to install, we will save a ton of money as I will install it myself.
I strongly recommend that anyone who is thinking about floor remodeling explores laminate as an alternative to hardwood.
